High temperature gas cooled reactor

The High Temperature Gas-cooled Reactor or HTGR is a gas cooled nuclear reactor that is fuelled with a mixture of graphite and spherical fuel particles. This reactor type was developed in the 1950s and interest in it has since varied. Recently there has been renewed interest in the technology, and today it often goes by the name Very high temperature reactor.
