Talk:Invasion of the Dinosaurs
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Some changes:
1) I've never heard of the Invasion of the Dinosaurs print being damaged. It's supposedly out of focus on one side, but that isn't damage.
2) The idea that the Invasion of the Dinosaurs print was made for internal use only seems to be a fan myth. Nothing at the End of the Lane 2 points out that the BBC archive cards list the episode as officially telerecorded, and that (according to Paul Vanezis), "it would have been necessary to book both a VT and film recording channel at the BBC to accomplish this. Normally test film recordings would be made from live off-air material or using a Step Line-Up pattern".
[edit] The Underground Station
Although the external scenes for the Underground station were shot at Moorgate, in the story it is supposed to be Trafalgar Square, the Bakerloo line station later combined with the Northern line Strand station as the current Charing Cross station. The scripts at [1] and [2] clearly state the station is Trafalgar Square, and from the screen-grabs at [3] it can be seen that the studio-set of the interior featured a London Underground roundel with a name beginning "TRAF..." Furthermore, Trafalgar Square is at the end of Whitehall and so makes sense for the location of the bunker, while Moorgate is some two miles away. Nick Cooper 10:40, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
- Hmm - Trafalgar Square disappeared from the tube map in what, 1979? Yet another hole in "the UNIT stories are set in the 1980s" theory! Timrollpickering 13:33, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

- Yeah, take that, "1980s supporters"! Deserves adding to the controversy article, at least. I'll do that. --khaosworks (talk • contribs) 13:41, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
