[edit] "Liberal" in 1870s
A less lame and more thoughtful suggestion of why a Kansas town might have been named "Liberal" in the 1870s would not be hard to come up with. "Liberal" was broadly speaking a synonym of "progressive"— the article might reflect that, without very "original" research.--Wetman 17:05, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
