[edit] Dalek ships
[edit] Motherships
In The Dalek Invasion of Earth the Daleks use flying saucers for transport and to scout for human resistance. A different design of Dalek mothership seen in the seventh Doctor serial Remembrance of the Daleks is described as being able to crack the Earth open like an egg. Bad Wolf and The Parting of the Ways return to a saucer-shaped design of Dalek mothership. The emperor Dalek's "flag-ship" is equipped with projectile weaponry.[1] An option to use the new effects is included in the Dalek Invasion of Earth DVD.
- Appears in: The Dalek Invasion Of Earth, Remembrance of the Daleks, Bad Wolf and The Parting of the Ways.
[edit] Shuttlecraft
The Dalek shuttlecraft is capable of atmospheric landing and has been seen to be able to carry at least four Daleks. The seventh Doctor described the Dalek shuttle as having massive ground defences but an un-guarded service hatch on the top. Dalek shuttles possess a control position with an "engaged" Dalek.[2]
- Appears in: Remembrance of the Daleks.
[edit] Time ship
A craft able to travel though time similar to the TARDIS.
- Appears in: The Chase and The Daleks' Master Plan
[edit] Void ship
A spherical ship (previously thought only theoretical) that is capable of travelling through the nothingness between parallel universes, existing outside the whole of Time and Space. The void was shut by the Doctor but it is unknown whether the void ship is still capable of travelling through the void. K9 uses a void ship in the acclaimed story 'Rose Tyler: Earth Defence' by Rhys Harper. The canocity of all spin-off media is, ofcourse, uncertain.
- Appears in: Army of Ghosts, Doomsday and Rose Tyler:Earth Defence.
[edit] Genesis Ark
A prison ship using dimensionally transcendental technology as used in the TARDIS, created by the Time Lords to house all the Daleks captured during the Time War. It is vaguely Dalek-shaped, and can also fly. It is the main feature of the episodes Army of Ghosts and Doomsday, along with the invasion of Earth by the Cybermen. Most of the episodes take place within the Torchwood Institute, which is supposedly Canary Wharf.
It is a Prison ship created by the Time Lords to house millions of captured Daleks. It needs the touch of a person who has travelled through time to open; this is because Daleks cannot touch and so it is safe from them opening it. It would have been possible for the Daleks to open it by force, but this would have caused the Sun to explode.
The Genesis Ark was opened accidentally by Mickey Smith. The Ark, however, could only be used within a certain radius. The Daleks had to use the Ark outside and forced the four Daleks to escape from Torchwood Tower. They then proceeded to use the Ark while elevated outside it. The genesis ark eventually got sucked in to the void , along with all the daleks inside it.
- Appears in: Doomsday
[edit] Sycorax ship
- Appears in: The Christmas Invasion.
[edit] SS Madame de Pompadour
The ship of this name drifts through space, around two and a half galaxies away from Earth. It is severely damaged in an ion storm (as seen in the episodes "tardisode") and features a number of time portals into 18th century France.
- Appearance:The Girl in the Fireplace.
[edit] TARDIS
[edit] Captain Jack's time ship
Captain Jack's time ship of Chula design was equipped with a tractor beam and a camouflage device.
- Appears in: The Empty Child, The Doctor Dances
[edit] Webstar
Two of these ships belonging to the Racnoss have been seen, both of which appear in The Runaway Bride. The Empress of the Racnoss calls her ship a Webstar.
Webstars are shaped like eight-pointed stars, are covered in a substance that resembles spider webbing and can discharge energy bolts from their points. One is revealed to be the centre of the Earth, while the other, piloted by the Empress, is destroyed over London by tank shells.
- Appears in: The Runaway Bride
[edit] Motor vehicles
[edit] Bessie
The third Doctor's main mode of transport, during his exile on Earth, was a canary-yellow roadster. This vehicle made its début in the Third Doctor story Doctor Who and the Silurians and it made its final regular appearance in the Fourth Doctor story Robot. Upon the Fourth Doctor's departure from Earth, Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart had it "put into mothballs". It has reappeared in the Fifth Doctor story The Five Doctors, the Seventh Doctor serial Battlefield and the 1993 charity special Dimensions in Time. The BBC made Bessie from a highly modified Ford Popular.
The Doctor made several modifications to Bessie during his time at UNIT. These were an anti-theft force field (The Ambassadors of Death), a remote control (The Dæmons) and a minimum inertia hyperdrive. (The Time Monster).
- Appears in: various Third Doctor stories, Robot, The Five Doctors, Battlefield, Dimensions in Time
[edit] Whomobile
A hovercraft-type vehicle that was also capable of flight, used by the Third Doctor in the serials Invasion of the Dinosaurs and Planet of the Spiders. The vehicle was also known as Alien, but was only ever referred to as "my car" by the Doctor in the television series. However, it is popularly referred to as the Whomobile. The vehicle was specially commissioned by and was the property of Jon Pertwee, and was not seen in the program again after he left it.
- Appears in: Invasion of the Dinosaurs, Planet of the Spiders
