Mweelrea (Irish Maol Réidh, "bald grey hill") is a mountain in the west of Ireland, and the highest point in County Mayo and in Connacht. It rises 814 metres (2,670 feet) above sea level in the south-western corner of County Mayo. The mountain overlooks Killary Harbour, Ireland's only fjord.
Mweelrea is relatively easy for novice climbers to negotiate, and provides some stunning views of the surrounding area, including views of Co. Galway and Mayo, and the Atlantic Ocean.
