NC 615 is an unusual 9.1-mile (15 km) North Carolina state highway enirely in Currituck County. It does not connect to any other primary numbered route; however, it does meet former secondary State Route 615 at its northern terminus at the Virginia state line at Virginia Beach, Virginia. From there, the road travels east across the Marsh Causeway over the Mackay Island National Wildlife Refuge. On Knotts Island, NC 615 turns south on Knotts Island Road. The route then travels south to the Currituck Sound where it ends at the Knotts Island Ferry on Ferry Dock Road.[1][2]
