[edit] Upcoming Cyberman TV story
I was going to put something on this page about the apparent similarities between this story and Tom MacRae's upcoming Cyberman 2-parter in the new TV series, but realized it was too speculative. All I've got is that it's supposed to take place on an "alternate Earth" (isn't that what Mondas is, more or less, in this story?) and the similarity of the character names Yvonne Hartley and Yvonne Hartman. But it sure looks to me as if the production team is adapting Spare Parts, just like how they adapted Jubilee into Dalek. —Josiah Rowe 21:08, 27 October 2005 (UTC)
- Yeah, we've been expecting it to be. RTD has never confirmed it, but even during series one when people on OG were talking about adapting more stories along the lines of Jubliee, Spare Parts was top of the list, mainly because RTD stated that it, along with Holy Terror, was some of the "best drama written for any genre" (in the introduction to Doctor Who: The New Audio Adventures - the Inside Story). We also know that Platt would probably never get the job because he has no non-Who credits unlike Rob Shearman, so it would have to be someone else adapting it, if at all.
