I'm not sure about this page... anyone else think it's a bit too extensive? I'm not saying that we should be in the practice of removing good information from articles, but I think this one could use a bit of pruning... Wikipedia is not a book report... --Dante Alighieri 19:33, 18 Aug 2003 (UTC)
It is a good memory refresher, but now it is in need of a shorter summary or abstract. Are articles ever formated with abstract first?Deborah DeLadurantaye 18:19, 16 Oct 2003 (UTC)

Bill Clinton was not "victorious" in the impeachment proceedings. He was impeached.
I beg to differ with your impeachment claim. He was found not guilty in an impeachment hearing. DUH!
In the American, constitutional sense, Clinton was impeached, because impeachment merely means that charges were brought to trial in the Senate. In other words, an indictment. In that sense, the message two notes above is correct. The message immidiately above is also correct, because Clinton was acquitted of those charges. For Philip Roth's purposes in "The Human Stain," Clinton was victorious, because his political enemies failed in their ultimate aim, which was to convict the president of criminal charges and remove him from office.
Please leave the synopsis in its full length; the writing of the novel is so dreadful, I found it much more enjoyable to read the story outline here on Wikipedia. 24.3.142.198 06:13, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
- I've tagged this with {{plot}} tag as the plot summary is too long, which is against wiki policy. Some of the analysis could be moved elsewhere to reduce it to the main events of the book Madmedea 16:54, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

I've tagged the plot summary section with {{unreferenced}}, as it's much more than a plot summary. It's the writer's interpretation of the book, with unsourced explanations of symbolism and meaning, and that's original research. | Mr. Darcy talk 01:57, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

I think it would be a good idea to split of the information about the film into a separate article i.e. The Human Stain (film) with a link from this page as seems to be done with other film-book adaptations Madmedea 16:54, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
