From the naval city of Portsmouth in the southern regions of the UK, come, THE EXPOSED, a band with an anti-establishment theme and a blend of musically rousing and melodic songs.
Influenced by such bands as The Clash, Rancid, The Bouncing Souls and Anti-Flag, The Exposed have managed to bring together both savagely political songs along with the humorous and sometimes tormented observations of a wasted youth.
Formed in the summer of 2005, following a chance meeting in the mosh pit of a local gig, they were immediately bonded by both their desire to be heard and ambition to make a success of their music. The first few months were spent continuously rehearsing, writing and developing their sound along with persistently hassling local promoters and venues for the chance to play.
Their persistence paid off and soon the gigs started coming in, the first being a BOTB Competition in which they won 'Best Newcomers'. It was at these early gigs that the band found they had a flair for putting on a show and have since worked hard on making every gig an experience for the audience.
As the gig roster grew, so did the fan base and the end of 2005 saw the release of their debut EP ‘On Your Radio’ which went on to sell over 500 copies. On the back of this success their debut album ‘Marching On’ was released in September 2006 on their own label, Headcase Records. After continuous gigging and self promotion, the album, which can be found on the shelves of HMV, Independent Record shops and Internet retailers, is selling well above all expectations.
Since forming The Exposed have played gigs all around the UK including support slots with, Stiff Little Fingers, The Business, Jesse James and Graveltrap, as well as headlining, and selling out, the 400 capacity Wedgewood Rooms in their home city of Portsmouth three times.
Plans for the year ahead consist of festival appearances, including The Concrete Jungle Festival in Camber Sands, going back in the studio to record new material along with the possible release of a single. There are also negotiations going on for a tour of Europe later in the year.
The main objective for the year ahead is to find an Agent, Publisher and Label/Distributor that share their passion for the music and their desire to succeed.
