Oil & Acrylic Paint is mixed in the same way. Below are some unusual mixtures of colors that this writer has discovered:
Cobalt Violet & Orange with varying degrees of white make a nice caucasion flesh color. Dioxazine Purple with Orange yields a shadow color.
Orange & Green makes a nice brown.
Yellow Ochre darkens Yellow
Burnt Sienna darkens red.
Purple darkens Blue.
Brown can be mixed with Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, & Purple to get some nice earthy colors.
Use Blue or prurple to darken Green and Use Yellow or Yellow-Orange to lighten green.
A color's compliment should be used to grey down colors rather than Black - (fwd slash means - is compliment of) Compliments are as follows: Red/Green Blue/Orange, Yellow/Purple, Red-Orange/Blue-Green, Yellow-Orange/Blue-Purple, Red-Purple/Yellow-Green
