Time to Dance
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Time to Dance" is a song by Panic! at the Disco from their first album, A Fever You Can't Sweat Out, which was released in 2005. It can also refer to the Bing Bang (Time to Dance) single.
[edit] Meaning
The lyrics contain the phrase "Shotgun wedding", possibly meaning that there is an unplanned pregnancy. Howevver the phrase "Shotgun wedding" can also derive form the fact that the first scene in the book "Invisible Monsters" by Chuck Palahniuk shows someone getting shot by a shotgun at a wedding, not an early pregnancy. Several lyrics also parallel scenes from the book Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk. "Time To Dance" is the first song ever written by Panic! At the Disco guitarist Ryan Ross.
This song was also performed when Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz flew to their garage to see them.
[edit] Variations
Three versions of the song have been released: a demo, the album track, and a "remix."
