TVT Records is an independent record label located in New York City in the United States.
The label was founded as Tee Vee Toons by Steve Gottlieb in 1985. The express purpose of the label at that time was to release Television's Greatest Hits, a series of recordings of American television theme songs.
The label eventually began to distribute other music, particularly synth pop. The first releases of Nine Inch Nails were on the TVT label. After the success of Nine Inch Nails' Pretty Hate Machine, TVT picked up a number of releases by notable EBM & Industrial rock acts after purchasing the bankrupt Wax Trax! label in 1993. TVT continued to use the Wax Trax! imprint for years afterwards.
