My name, as you may have guessed, is Kirill Lokshin. I was born in Saint Petersburg (which was, at the time, Leningrad), and am currently residing in the U.S. state of Maryland. Professionally, I'm an engineer; but my primary interest as a writer of articles is military history (European military history from the fifteenth century to the eighteenth century, to be precise).

Since first editing Wikipedia in June 2005, I seem to have acquired a couple of interesting jobs:

I became an administrator in October 2005.
I have served as the Lead Coordinator of the Military history WikiProject since February 2006.
I was appointed to Tranche Gamma of the Arbitration Committee in December 2006; I also received the "oversight" permission.

In addition, I was a reviewer for the "Version 0.5" offline release of Wikipedia.

Selected contributions

I have substantially written a number of articles; the major ones are listed below, in the order in which they were completed:

War of the League of Cambrai: Featured in November 2005; "Today's featured article" in January 2006. My first major article, this was written before footnotes really came into their own, and doesn't exhibit the more elaborate annotation found in my later work.

Italian War of 1521-1526: Featured in June 2006. I've never been entirely happy with the shifts between broad overview and exhaustive detail that seem to occur in this one.

Battle of Bicocca: Featured in July 2006.

Battle of Ceresole: Featured in October 2006; awarded an honorable mention in Danny's third contest; "Today's featured article" in March 2007. This was my first attempt at truly exhaustive citation, as well as the first article in which I included explicit discussion of historiographical concerns.

In addition, I am the creator and maintainer of the War Portal, which became a featured portal in January 2006, and of the Italian Wars Portal, which became a featured portal in December 2006.
