A category is a list page which helps to find articles that have the same subject.
To add an article to a category, at the very bottom of the article, add a category link. For example, if the article is about a book, then you could add the article to a "Books" category with this:

An article can be in many categories all at the same time. It is usually a good idea for every article to be in at least two categories.
If you are not sure which category that an article should be in, you can look through a list of categories:
If you are still not sure, then put an "uncategorized" template on the page, by adding this to it:

- {{uncat}}
This will put the article into a list at Category:Category needed, and then other people will come and help and find a good category for the article.
