Action of 1805
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Action of 1805 was a naval battle that took place in February 1805 during the Napoleonic Wars[citation needed].
Three French ships attacked the British battleship HMS Centurion and an East Indiaman which were in an anchorage in the East. Despite the inexplicable behaviour of the British merchantman, which refused to retreat, even when repeatedly ordered to, the French retreated due to defeat by Centurion.
