Actuarial exams are a series of professional level examinations which must be passed in order to be admitted into one of many actuarial societies. In the United States, the two biggest professional organizations are the Society of Actuaries (SOA), and the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS). There may also be exams taken in other countries, or exams taken in the US relating to pension plans, sponsored by the Joint Board for the Enrollment of Actuaries; those passing these exams are called "Enrolled Actuaries."
