Adelphi Hotel was a hotel based in the city centre of Sheffield, England. It was notable for the founding of two major sports teams, Yorkshire County Cricket Club and Sheffield Wednesday F.C.. Its landlord at the time was Harry Sampson who was himself a noted cricketer and held the record for the highest individual score on ice. The hotel was demolished in 1970 to make way for the Crucible Theatre.
