[edit] Town Structure
Most of Alcona's bussinesses are located on Innisfil Beach Road. Three Stripmalls are located along the main road. For a great deal of time, the Sobey's, located on the corner of Jans Boulevard and Innisfil Beach Road, was the only large business. Now, however, other "large" companies such as TD Bank, Scotiabank, Home Hardware, and Tim Hortons have established businesses in the Alcona area.
[edit] Publicly-Run Establishments
Alcona is home to one of the 14 high schools within Simcoe County. Nantyr Shores Secondary School is located in Alcona, with students being bused in from the surround communities of Cookstown, Stroud, Lefroy, Belle Ewart, Barklay, and Churchill. Alcona Glen Elementary School is also in Alcona, although the majority of it's student body resides directly in Alcona. A community center is being erected in the nearby town of Barklay, although this area is also commonly referred to as Alcona.
