Anarchy (card game)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Anarchy is a card game, typically played with a standard 24card deck. It could reasonably be considered as a rummy variant, and may be similar, or identical, to 'australian rummy'.
[edit] Known History
The game has been popular amongst New Zealand anarchists since at least the early 1990s; its prior origins are no longer known. After about 10 years, members of the North East Valley Gaming and Tea Society took responsibility for standardising and refining the game mechanics. Prior to this, regional variations existed, creating confusion, frequent disagreements, unfinished games and (occasionally) ruined friendships. These variations are still played, but care must be taken before the outset of a game to agree which, if any, deviations from standard play are to be observed.
