Andy Akinwolere

Andy Akinwolere (born 30th November 1983 in Nigeria, moved to Birmingham, UK when he was eight years old) is a British television presenter, who began hosting the BBC television programme Blue Peter on 28 June 2006
Andy studied Media Studies at Sheffield Hallam University between 2001 and 2004 before getting a job as a runner for the BBC. He was asked to audition by one of the Blue Peter directors he met whilst eating out with work colleagues; he had previously intended to go into documentary-making. His first challenge, as a presenter, was to complete a 500 ft abseil.
Akinwolere has four siblings and speaks Yoruba, as well as English.
