- Asgard is the name of a fictional wonder-city, a city constructed not only to be lived in but also to be marvelled at, in Jack London's Dystopian Novel, The Iron Heel. It was said to have been completed in the year 1984.

- A race of beings known as the Asgard are heavily referred to in the popular Stargate SG-1 television series. Here they are depicted as an ancient alien race that visit Earth and set themselves up as protective gods in Norse-based civilizations on other planets. They resemble Roswell Greys from UFO abductee reports.
- In the anime series Saint Seiya, the Bronze Saints battle the God Warriors of Asgard, in the Asgard Saga.
In the "Grim adventures of Billy and Mandy", Billy is accidentally transported to the realm of Asgard, having interdimensionally switched places with one of it's actual residents. He then proceeds to terrorize the realm, stealing Thor's hammmer.

- The band White Skull released a song titled 'Asgard', which describes the great hall awaiting Ragnarok.
- The band Therion released a song titled 'Asgård'.
- The rap duo Cannibal Ox has a song titled 'The battle for Asgard' on their album "The Cold Vein".
- The band Týr released their first album in 2002 titled How Far To Asgaard.
- American heavy metal band Manowar use the lyrics "to Asgard the valkries fly" in their song 'Blood of my Enemies'.
- Japanese Band Bump of Chicken have an instrumental song titled 'Asgard' on their fourth album "Yggdrasil".

- Asgard is the name of a free multiplayer modification for the game Freelancer (computer game).
- A building in the game Max Payne is called the "Asgard Building." The game heavily references other Norse mythology, such as Ragnarok, Valkyrs and more.
- Asgard is the name of a city in Tales of Symphonia.
- On the Game Boy Advance video game, Riviera: The Promised Land, Asgard acts as the realm of Gods and angels.
