Back-Up Trust
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Back-Up Trust is a British charity dedicated to working with people paralysed through spinal cord injury. The Back-Up Trust was founded in 1986 by Mike Nemesvary.
The Back-Up Trust enables people with spinal cord injury to surpass their aspirations in every day life. We are a national charity that supports people; young or old with spinal cord injury.
We run a variety of services that encourage self-confidence, independence and motivation following a traumatic life changing incident resulting in spinal cord injury. We also support friends, families and colleagues of all those who are affected to encourage integration and promote disability awareness and collaboration.
‘After an amazing week [on a multi-activity course] as I headed for home I realised I had two options for my future. I could go home to a life of being bitter and resentful or I could get “back up” to the place I was once at. The latter being the one I took.’Janice, T7 aged 40
