[edit] The Hideout
Soon after graduating from The Connecticut School of Broadcasting, Badmonkey was hired by the school and found himself teaching various technical radio and television classes. It was there that he met El Jefe, who was then working for WJFK-FM in Washington, D.C. hosting a Saturday night show with J-Dubs entitled El Jefe's Hideout (later called The Hideout).
Badmonkey soon became the webmaster for The Hideout's website show and found himself spending more and more time at WJFK. Not long after Badmonkey joined Jefe and Dubs, The Hideout moved from the weekends to a weekday evening slot. Badmonkey officially joined the show as an intern, filming all the stunts performed on the show and editing these videos for their website. After about a year and a half, The Hideout moved to WTKS in Orlando, Florida. Although Badmonkey remained in Washington D.C., he and The Hideout remain good friends, with Badmonkey occasionally contributing to their show.
[edit] RadioBBQ
Badmonkey began hosting shows on internet radio station RadioBBQ] during his days on The Hideout. Station owner Dan Wright contacted him and offered to let him host a show on RadioBBQ. Badmonkey joined RadioBBQ and became the webmaster of RadioBBQ's website in addition to helping Wright run the station. Badmonkey became involved in several shows on RadioBBQ including The Asylum, Solitary, and The Triple-F Power Hour.
[edit] ThereIsNoRadio
Eventually, RadioBBQ owner Dan Wright decided he would like to continue hosting but no longer run RadioBBQ. Badmonkey decided to start his own internet radio station, ThereIsNoRadio. Many of the DJs from RadioBBQ chose to migrate to ThereIsNoRadio.
[edit] Shows
Over the past year, Badmonkey has hosted several shows on both RadioBBQ and ThereIsNoRadio.
[edit] The Asylum
When Badmonkey first joined RadioBBQ in the fall of 2004, he teamed up with DizzyDog and started a 2 hour Sunday night show called The Asylum. The Asylum would end up moving to Saturday nights from 7-10pm, featuring call-in guests such as UFO Phil, The Osama Bin Laden Finding Team, Paul Rebhan, and Joey Green. The two continue to host the show with guest appearances by Ogre (first presented by the name "Janitor John").
[edit] Solitary
After a few weeks of doing The Asylum, Badmonkey and DizzyDog made the decision to extend their show to three hours. Dizzy decided he couldn't stay for the third hour, leaving Badmonkey to play punk rock and discuss news and politics. Soon, Badmonkey took Solitary into an 8-10pm slot from Monday to Friday, which inturn morphed into a 7-10pm show Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The show finally moved to five hours on Friday nights. After moving to ThereIsNoRadio, Badmonkey chose to replace Solitary with Jam Sessions and The Badmonkey Show.
[edit] Jam Sessions
Jam Sessions is a 3 hour music show from 4pm-7pm Friday evenings where Badmonkey digs deep into his CD collection. During these three hours, he plays hardcore, punk rock, reggae, hiphop and even some "guilty pleasures". Jam Sessions is anything goes.
[edit] The Badmonkey Show
The Badmonkey Show airs every Friday on ThereIsNoRadio from 7-10pm where Badmonkey still talks some politics and current events but mixed into a much more varied freeform show.
