Yeah, I changed the image quite a bit. I modeled the new star from the Hero of the Soviet Union and used a ribbon design based on a few Polish medals. I still kept the ribbon, and I added a center piece, which still makes it look (somewhat) like a barnstar. I hope you like these changes, and my (somewhat) artistic ability. If people create national variations, thats fine, but I have only one request: keep the star medal piece that I used. I want to keep things a bit uniform. Other than that, I do not care if you have ribbons, how long they are, and other devices. Thanks. Zscout370 (talk) 16:13, 12 May 2005 (UTC)

I have removed the section on national variants from the award's page. As explained in the paragraph I just added to the page, the award was created after reaching consensus on a few topics, one of them was its scope. The project of country-specific awards, coincidentally (and ironically) enough, was the very original project for the award. Because of that, I can say that this (country-centric awards) was especifically and enphatically rejected during the discussions aimed at creating this award. As already explained, this is not to say that people can't create their country-centric awards, on the contrary, but those cannot be listed in this wiki award page, not only for the reason I've just explained, but also because they are not wiki awards by definition, not to mention that the neutrality of the BoNM could be damaged, if the very award's page becomes a maze of "national variants". If people would prefer, they could even create a new project page for their country awards, but please refrain from listing them here (if a new project page is created, though, I'm sure no one would oppose to linking it from here, as part of a "see also" section). [edit] My suggestion: Why not having all of the recipients' user names arranged in ALPHABETICAL ORDER?

Hi and hello Zscout370! Would you allow me to give out my one proposal regarding mainly about all of the name-list of recipients' section from your founded Wiki-article of your barnstar? I feel that having such names of recipients from those sections would be much better improved if they are arranged in an alphabetical order for an easier finding by both the Wikipedians and the readers. Instead of just leaving them behind or being disorganized of which name comes first, don't you think that in this way (i.e. my idea) would be a little bit simpler and pleasant to look at and to search at not only for me but for other Wikipedians and readers as well? To be honest to myself, I am more often inclined to such orderly assortment when it comes to any "messy" lists or catalogues. The rest of the other Wiki-articles on barnstar images like for instance: Image:Barnstar-rotating.gif and Image:Raok barnstar.png each already have their own name-list of recipients "piled-up" alphabetically in an orderly manner.
