[edit] crypto-jew?
tjere was a baseless statement (more like a gossip) in the article about that Barış Manço was a "dönme". Actually Manço was a Turkish nationalist and very proud of his Turkish heritage. So I erased that baseless statement. Isatay 09:59, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
- You did good, I have no friggin' idea how those crypto-Jew conspiracy theories spread around Wikipedia. I have been trying to purge them out of many articles (even from the Ataturk-related articles!) for months. Any such weird conspiratorial claims will be removed - if there is a source in which a person has stated that he is a Jew/Christian/Chinese/Martian, please include them and state it, otherwise they will be removed, simple. At least "he was a Jew" is understandable, but I really cannot stand these weird "he was a crypto-Jew" stories: someone is either a Jew or he is not, there is no beating around the bush in the 21st century.. [edit] Genç Osman
Barış Manço's version of Genç Osman is very popular how can we mention it in the article? Deliogul 13:57, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Links
24. It might be better to avoid linking to so many empy pages. Band members, depending on might not even make the grade ( fit the established criteria) for inclusion in an article by themselves . Criteria would include fame, notability, accomplishment. Please remember that this is a general compendium.
My own preference is that a good article about Turkish Genres be written and that the people already listed be given articles. If you have the interest and the knowledge, that might be a place to improve the encycopedia. Writing about what you know and then researching more is a good way to proceed. Two16
