Beadlow Priory
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Beadlow Priory is a monastic foundation established in the early 12th century for Benedictine monks in Beadlow, Bedfordshire, England about 10 km south of Bedford. Originally named Beaulieu Priory, it was a cell of the Abbey at St Albans.
Around 1140 the lands of Beadlow Manor were granted to the priory.
The priory was absorbed into St Albans Abbey in 1428, and in 1434, in the ownership of the priory passed to the Crown. The decay of the buildings ensued after this time.
It was close to Chicksands Priory.
