[edit] The proper name
The name is Bhaktivedanta Narayana, and Maharaja is the suffix. Goswami is something else. Moving to Bhaktivedanta Narayana Maharaja. -- Raga 21:27, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
The full proper name of Gurudeva is Tridandisvami Sri Srimad Bhaktivedanta Narayana Maharaja Syamadas
- [Please remember to sign your posts.] Yes, that is no doubt the fullest name. However, "Bhaktivedanta Narayana" is the "identifier", the rest are honorifics. If you look up Encyclopaedia Britannica, you find listings such as "Bhaktivedanta, A.C." though strictly speaking that should be "Swami, A.C. Bhaktivedanta". Please remember that this is a dictionary, not ILoveGurudev.Com. Raga 15:12, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
"Goswami" is not a part of his official name. If anything were to be used after the name, it would be "Maharaja" – which is where I initially moved the page to. Since the page was moved away from "Maharaja" without any commentary on the talk-page, let's strip it to the base dictionary form: "Bhaktivedanta Narayana". I have no objections if someone wants to move it back to "Bhaktivedanta Narayana Maharaja", as long as double redirects are fixed. And don't move without discussing. [edit] NPOV
A lot of what's in this article is copy-pasted from B.V. Narayana Maharaja's websites and contains eulogy that doesn't belong to an encyclopedia entry. Come to think of it, quite a bit of what's in the story is actually something I once wrote for an early website for Maharaja. Still, it needs to be cleaned up for NPOV. --Raga 20:13, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
I note that the article states B.V. Narayana Maharaja first met Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakur in 1947. This is an error. He met Sripad B.P. Kesava Maharaja at that time (Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasawati passed away in 1937).
