[edit] Regarding Blue Ridge Highlander
Hi Blueridge Belle,
No offense taken at all, and I meant none toward you or the Blue Ridge Highlander page; however, the page was about a commercial entity and the article itself did not assert anything notable about the topic. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia (not just "a source of information"), so the entries need to be written like an encylopedic entry and need to be about something notable. Again, no offense intended, just trying to apply the Wikipedia guidelines as I understand them. Specifically, I based my thoughts on Wikipedia:Notability (companies and corporations). Also, What Wikipedia is Not is another good place to read to get a better understanding of what should be included in Wikipedia and how it should be included.
As far as adding links to you site, the other editor may not have been familiar with the rules of the road for external links. I'd recommend incorporating the information from your site into the actual article istelf and then referencing your site (rather than just adding as an external link). Some editors may still remove these, but if your site has encylopedic content not available anywhere else, that will provide a good argument as to why it should be there. I'd recommend becoming familiar with Wikipedia:External links though before adding your site to any other pages as an "External link". Also, check out Wikipedia:Spam#How not to be a spammer, as it sounds like your intentions are in good faith. Following those guidelines will help insure that others see you contributions the right way from the start.
While I'm up on my soapbox, don't forget to sign your comments with two dashes and four tildes (that will sign your username). Look for the icon above the text editing area and this will do it for you automatically. Some folks seem to get really upset/snippy when you don't "officially" sign your comments - see Wikipedia:Wikiquette.
One last thing, you may want to check out WikiTravel, I think you may find it useful based on your description of the Highlander.
Hope this was helpful. Good luck editing - please don't let my initial reactions to your previous edits deter you from additional ones. --Roswell native 23:23, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
