California's 2nd congressional district

California's 2nd congressional district is one of 53 California Congressional Districts. The current Representative for this district is Republican Wally Herger who has represented the district since 1987. The district is very large geographically, containing much of the far north of the state of California, north of Sacramento. George W. Bush received 62% of the vote in this district in 2004. The district has a Cook Partisan Voting Index score of R +13.
