Cambridge model engineering society
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Cambridge Model Engineering Society runs a model railway in Grantchester, Cambridge open to the public of some Sundays (usually the second in the month) during the summer months. They have a ground level continuous multi-gauge track for 7.25in, 5in and 3.5in locomotives; the main station has an adjoining steam up area with turntable, pit and loading ramp. There is also a raised steaming area with turntable and electrical supply for steam raising fans. The main circuit is fully signalled with track circuiting, allowing several trains to run together. An end-to-end raised track for 5in and 3.5in locomotives runs along one side of the site. They also have a well established 16mm garden railway for 32mm gauge locomotives.
[edit] Directions
