Canadians of Afghan descent
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
About 8000 Canadians are immigrants from Afghanistan or their descendents. Most reside in Guelph, Hamilton and Toronto. They form a very tightly knit community. Afghan Canadians can speak both Farsi or Pushto although their accents of the language usually differ slightly from those who grew up in Afghanistan. The accents are also influenced by the region which their ancestors come from.
