The Cadet Intermediate & Cougar Advanced Band of Carmenita Middle School is taught by Mr. Allan Hallback.

Home Economics is taught by Mrs. Andrea Brownell, who is also an 7th Grade English Teacher. Students taking this course will learn about how to be etiquette, basic cooking skills (and the utensils used), and the basics of sewing.

Art & Ceramics is taught by Mr. Dennis Dilley. Students taking these classes will learn how to draw and work with ceramics.
[edit] CMS CTV
CMS CTV stands for Carmenita Middle School Carmenita Television. CTV is a TV broadcast running live across the school. This news broadcast discusses the daily activities occurring on campus such as sports, trackmeets, teachers, music, yearbook and dances. The broadcast is operated by a group of students and the technology teacher. There is usually a broadcast every morning. In this they talk about the daily school news and activities.

Teacher Aides (TAs) basically help teachers with what they need, whether it is grading items or passing out papers back to students.

Taught by Mrs. Alma Aguilar-Cordero. Students taking this class will have the chance to take a high school course. Once completed, they can take Spanish II in High School. 8th Graders only.

The Leadership class is comprised of students who are selected in the Spring of each year, as well as officers elected by the student body during a school wide election in the fall. Participating students must maintain a 2.0 GPA and a citizenship grade of "O" or "S". The Leadership class plans and implements school functions such as, fundraisers, dances, Back to School Night, 8th grade registration, food drives, assemblies, spirit activities, Red & Yellow Ribbon week, Multicultural week, and the Talent Show. The class serves as a one year elective for those students.

The Science club is a student led club that is open to all students that have a love for science. We meet during lunch and after school to engage in science-based activities. This club investigates concepts and principles in science to further students' learning. Science club meets during lunch and after school to plan activities where students can have fun while learning.

WEB is a volunteer organization of 8th grade students who are both interactive and creative. WEB students must maintain a 2.0 GPA and a citizenship grade of "O" or "S". These students, who are selected in May during a "WEB Playday" plan their activities during meetings held before school, during lunch, or after school. Serving as mentors to 7th grade students, WEB members plan activities that recognize new 7th graders and help them become better acquainted with CMS and the challenges facing a middle school student.

To participate in this national organization, students must apply either in the Fall if they are 8th graders or in the Spring for both 7th and 8th graders. Participants, who must maintain a GPA of 3.5 or above, serve as peer tutors after school in our Homework Club. Students pay a national fee for membership and have the opportunity for scholarships during their senior year of high school To be a member in high school, a student must have been a member during one of his/her years of middle school.

This organization is open to all students interested in serving as volunteers on campus and in the community. The goal of this club is to foster an atmosphere of cooperation, understanding and harmony for all citizens.
[edit] Homework Club
The Homework Club, which is held daily from 2:25 until 3:15, is open to all students as a quiet place to do homework or receive peer tutoring provided by members of the CJSF. Although no membership is necessary, students who wish to attend must arrive on time and stay the entire time, not leaving until 3:15.

The Christian Club, which is open to students of all faiths, meets on Thursdays during lunch in room 202. Meetings consists of singing and bible study. Participants often join with other campus organizations to raise money for the needy.
