[edit] Synopsis
A secret war between cats and dogs quickly peaks as a scientist (Jeff Goldblum) tries to create a serum to cure dog allergies in humans. As the unsuspecting humans go through their busy lives, the cats make several attempts to possess the formula, as their canine foes try tirelessly to stop them. Caught in the crossfire, a young beagle named Lou, adopted by the Brody family, tries hard to succeed as a secret agent, and in being a friend to the young Scotty Brody.

The film was a box office success, grossing $93 million in the US, and more than $107 million worldwide in its initial theatrical release.

- Prada, the Beagle who played Lou, also played Porthos in Star Trek: Enterprise.
- After the Russian cat drops the "stealth poop" he mutters "From Russia with Love", the title of the second James Bond movie.
- When Lou hits the window after being flung by the pitchfork, one of the puppies says "back from your adventures so soon, Scooby-Doofus?" (a reference to Scooby Doo)
- Mr. Tinkles refers to Sophie the maid as "Large Marge", a reference to Pee-wee's Big Adventure.
- In the scene described above, Mr. Tinkles is a puppet.
- In the scene where a bone-shaped bomb sails from the sky on a parachute, the bone reads "ACME", a reference to the ACME Corporation from the Roadrunner cartoons.
