[edit] Biography
[edit] Career
Lowe began his acting career in his teens, co-starring with Tommy Lee Jones and Robert Urich in the 1987 made-for-TV film April Morning, which depicted the battle of Lexington in the American Revolutionary War.
Lowe made his directorial debut in 2000, with the short film The Audition. He also directed the upcoming Beautiful Ohio, set to be released in 2007.
[edit] Personal life
Lowe was married to actress Hilary Swank between 1997 and 2006. Swank infamously forgot to thank Lowe during her acceptance speech after winning her first Academy Award in 2000 (for Boys Don't Cry), and she spent nearly every public appearance afterward making up for it. Upon winning her second Oscar in 2005 (for Million Dollar Baby), Lowe was the first person she thanked. On January 9, 2006, Lowe and Swank announced their separation, and in May of the same year, they announced their intention to divorce. On January 19, 2007, his rep announced that Lowe is dating producer Kim Painter[1].
