Charles Michael Mooney (born January 27, 1951) is a retired boxer from the United States, who won the silver medal in the bantamweight (– 54 kg) division at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, Canada. There he was stopped in the final by North Korea's Gu Yong-Ju.
Mooney, a 28-year old married soldier in the US Army at the time, did not turn professional. Mooney made the army his career, and retired in the late 1990s, with the rank of Staff Sergeant. He is currently the trainer of heavyweights Darnell Wilson, Wayne Hampton and Adele Olakanye, and resides as of January 2006, in Laurel, Maryland
