Choke at Doak

The Choke at Doak refers to the 1994 edition to the Florida/Florida State rivalry. In that game, Florida was leading 28-3 late in the third quarter, but ended up "losing" the game in a 31-31 tie. It was played in Doak Campbell Stadium, at Florida State.

Trailing 31-3, at the start of the fourth quarter, Zack Crockett scored FSU's first touchdown, to bring the score to 31-10. After stopping Florida's offense, Florida State went back on offense. Danny Kanell threw a strike to Andre Cooper to bring the score to 31-17. Florida's offense was held without a first down again, so Florida State took over. Warrick Dunn received a couple of Swing passes from Kannell, as he marched down the field.

Kannell himself scored a touchdown, after running a well-executed boot-leg play to bring the score to 31-24. On Florida's next possession quarterback Danny Wuerffel threw an interception to James Colzie, and Florida State was on offense yet again. Rock Preston ran for the tying touchdown and the final score was 31-31. It was considered a win, because of Florida's choke. In a Sugar Bowl rematch, Florida State won 23-17.
