Chris Hinkins (born 1953) is an English composer,pianist, and freelance Music Engraver and typesetter . He has performed in many high profile concerts and events, and has written many musical arrangements and pieces, including Christmas Gold, a version of Peter Pan, and the popular Hymn Praise to God in the Highest, which was one of eight winners of a Songs of Praise competition televised in 1988.

Raised in and aroundGuildford, surrey, England, Hinkins studied music for three years at Reading University.
Chris came from a very musical family, and had piano lessons from a very early age, butwas first noted for his skill in playing piano at the age of fifteen when he played [[_]]'s to critical aclaim.
Hinkins spent a short period working for the publishing firm [[_]] but was soon disillusioned, and left the company to work as a freelance Music Engraver.
Chris quickly became well known for his skill in this occupation. He has since typeset many well known works such as Raymond Briggs' [[the snowman]] and the chester's easiest piano books.
He has been involved for many years in the theatre, particularly working with Horncastle theatre Company and local schools for plays and concerts as well as acting on stage. Most recently he took on the position of musical director of the HTC's production of [[fiddler on the roof]] as well as playing the title role of the fiddler.
