[edit] Economy
Clogherhead is a popular tourist destination. The village is also notable for its sandy beach which extends from near the lifeboat station and on to the Boyne estuary.
The village is soon to be boosted by the construction of a new factory for the manufacture of solar powered calculators and digital watches by the new indiginous Irish company ICM (Irish Calculator Manufacturers).[citation needed] This factory is expected to add 12 jobs initially, rising to 84, not including ancilliary services. The factory is to be located adjacent to Strand Street and is the first industrial development in the town since the wafer factory closed following a fire in 1963.[citation needed]
