Clube de Desportos do Maxaquene, usually known simply as Maxaquene, is a football (soccer) club based in Maputo, Mozambique. The club is nicknamed Maxaca [1]. Maxaquene won its first title, the Cup of Mozambique, in 1978. Prior to Mozambique's independence from Portugal, Maxaquene were known as Sporting Clube de Lourenço Marques aka Sporting Lourenço Marques (Lourenço Marques being the colonial era name for Maputo). Under this name, Eusébio played for the club.
