Talk:Cobourg, Ontario
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Does anyone know anything about "Norman Davis, university intellectual and prominent social work advocate in Ontario"? I've spent most of my life in Cobourg and haven't heard of this man. A few searches and the only likely match I could find was on a webpage for Trent Rugby. Is he more more significant than the average Cobourger, or is it a little bit of vanity? -- NormanEinstein 19:54, 8 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Norman Davis is an Academic All-Canada (http://www.trentrugby.com/news), which is a great acheivement, and one that puts him in the academic/fooseball elite of Ontario. He is also a leader in incorporting university study for the homeless, and those without a home.
[edit] Elizabeth Smart
Should we not add a bit about the famous Poet Elizabeth Smart? She attended Hatfield Hall in Cobourg back in the 20's- it's even mentioned in the Wikipedia entry about her. She wrote "By Grand Central Station I Sat Down and Wept"
