Craig Ochs (born August 20, 1981 in Colorado Springs, Colorado) is an American football quarterback for the Buffalo Bills in the NFL and was also assigned to the Frankfurt Galaxy of NFL Europe in the 2006 season.
Craig Ochs played high school football at the dominant Fairview High School, where he earned All-American Honors. Craig Ochs then began his college career with the Colorado Buffaloes in 2000. At the time, Craig was considered one of the top young QB's in Division 1 College Football. However, due to lack of playing time, Craig decided to transfer to the University of Montana and play for the Division 1-AA power Montana Grizzlies. In his Senior season of 2004, Craig rated among the top 1-AA Quarterbacks and led the Grizzlies to the 1-AA title game which was broadcast on ESPN.
Going into 2005, Craig was tabbed as a borderline draft pick. However, Ochs went undrafted in the 2005 NFL Draft. Craig signed on to play with the San Diego Chargers soon after the draft but was cut on August 25, 2005, before the regular season began.
Craig tried out in Buffalo during the NFL regular season but didn't get an offer to sign with the team. He was also sought out by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the CFL, but held out for another NFL opportunity. Eventually, the Bills offered Craig a 2-year contract after the season ended on January 9th, 2006 as the teams 3rd string QB. The Bills allocated Ochs to the Frankfurt Galaxy on January 19, 2006. On April 22, 2006 he got his first start for the Galaxy, leading Frankfurt to a 18-17 comeback win over Berlin.
Craig's solid play, along with secondary QB Jeff Otis, led Frankfurt to a 7-3 record and a World Bowl title in 2006.
Craig is currently listed on the injured reserve for the Buffalo Bills.
