Daniel Imperato (b. March 9, 1958, Boston, Massachusetts) is an independent candidate for President of the United States. A resident of West Palm Beach, Florida, the 2008 election will be Imperato's first run for political office. He is married and has one stepson.
Daniel is the son of Paul "Sonny" Imperato and the late Mary C. Imperato. The Imperatos grew up on the West End of Boston, and were originally immigrants from Italy. As a young man, Daniel grew up playing sports, and developed a strong liking towards hockey, eventually becoming a semi-professional hockey player.
He began his business career in 1977, working with global manufacturing facilities in Israel and elsewhere. He also operated a trading company in Singapore and owned a manufacturing company in Belgium. In his last business venture, Imperato was in the process of organizing a global sub-sea fiber-optic telecommunications cable network.
Imperato is the founder of the Imperiali Organization, as well as the Palm Beach Imperials and the Miami Tropics, both of the American Basketball Association.

Imperato launched his campaign exploratory committee in June of 2005 and filed for office in January of 2006. His declared running mate was Webster Brooks, but Brooks was released from the campaign in October 2006.
Throughout his candidacy, Imperato has drummed up media coverage from around the world in international publications such as El Diario (Argentina), Los Tiempos (Bolivia), Iran Daily (Iran), China Daily (China), Champress (Lebanon), Al-Bawaba (Jordan), News Italia (Italy), Keralanext (India), Persian Journal (Iran), The Times of Nigeria (Nigeria), Vanguard (Nigeria), as well as domestic appearances in the Washington Times, ABC National News, Palm Beach Post, Sun-Sentinel, Miami Herald, Que Pasa (Los Angeles), Revere Journal, Syracuse Post, The Post Standard, Hartford Courant, as well as local affiliates for ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC, in markets such as Washington D.C., New York, West Palm Beach, and Miami. In addition Imperato held a major press conference that was broadcast around the country on C-SPAN2 and globally via C-SPAN2 satellite and webcast. In addition, Imperato has appeared on radio shows such as Good Politics Radio, Michael Patrick Shiels, Chuck Stricklin, Konrad & Bulldog in the Morning, Jake Weber show, Good Politics Radio, The Chuck Harder Show, The Samuel Ettaro Radio Show, and Live from Broadcast Square.
Recently, Imperato appeared in front of the Reform Party of the United States of America, originally founded by Texas Billionaire Ross Perot, for their consideration as their Presidential candidate in 2008.[citation needed] See US Presidential Election, 2008. In addition, Imperato participated in a debate with other candidates at the Libertarian Party State Chairs Conference in Orlando on March 19, 2007.[1]
