David B. Doty

David B. Doty (1950) is a composer and authority on just intonation. He is the author of The Just Intonation Primer (1993-1994).
Inspired in part by Harry Partch Doty began composing in 1970 and co-founded, with Henry S. Rosenthal and Dale S. Soules, the San Francisco based ensemble Other Music in 1975. Other Music created the American Gamelan, which has been written for by . Doty also founded the Just Intonation Network.
He has a recording on Syntonic Records.
Doty is also a technical writer and editor, author of computer books, and an environmental activist.
