Dirty Window
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Dirty Window" is the fourth song off Metallica's most recent album, St. Anger.
James Hetfield seems to be singing a song about someone misjudging the world around them. Someone who believes they are the sane one and everyone else is crazy, as shown by the lyrics "projector / protector / rejector / infector / injector / defector", that are about finding your own faults in others, taking it upon yourself to parent the rest of the world, refusing to accept the truth of the world around you and inside, being the one with the disease in a clean world and refusing the way of the world around you. The lyric "I drink from the cup of denial" means denying the truth, that you are the dirty one.
