Duty Officer
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Duty Officer is an officer in Indian Army who would be in charge of maintaining discipline and order in an Indian Army Unit. He would be also in charge of the guards on duty, and the inspection of the Quarter guard, both at day time and at the night. The duty period is generally 24 hours, after which the officer would be relieved. A duty officer would also have a Duty JCO and a Duty NCO to assist him in discharging his duties. The Duty JCO and Duty NCO would be wearing a brassard or an arm band with the words "Duty JCO" and "Duty NCO" marked on them.
