EA Sports Radio
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
EA Sports Radio is a feature of the console American football simulation Madden NFL. The fictional show plays during the menu screen of Franchise mode to provide a greater sense of a storyline during gameplay.
It features Tony Bruno as the host; he often interviews players and coaches about how the season is going and also has quiz questions in which fake listeners call in to make attempts at answering football-related questions (for example, which rookie wide receiver had the most touchdowns during the 2004 season). It has recently included fake interviews of famous NFL players and coaches.
Since Franchise mode can be played for 15+ seasons, the show eventually gets repetitive and some fans have criticized EA Sports for not including new features to the 'programming'. However, when the radio show was implemented in the game in Madden NFL 2005, it drew acclaim for adding content to the normally bland Franchise menu.
