Eastern Commerce Collegiate Institute

The Eastern Commerce Collegiate Institute is a school in Toronto, Canada. It offers a full range of courses leading to all Ministry pathways: University, College, Apprenticeship, and Workplace. Co-operative Education is an integral part of the curriculum. For students going into the workforce, two Business certificates can be linked with Co-op and Information Technology: The National Retail Business Certificate and an internationally recognized Computer Licence Certificate.
Their programs are integrated with the latest technology including state-of-the-art computer labs with full Internet access. Located close to Donlands Subway Station and the school, Danforth Collegiate and Technical Institute, Eastern is readily accessible to students from all parts of the City of Toronto. The school prides itself in serving a multicultural population. A school that celebrates diversity and welcomes and integrates all students, while maintaining a strong tradition of excellence, Eastern offers a variety of co-curricular programs that support a positive school climate. These activities include special-interest clubs and athletics, including our renowned basketball program at the Bantam, Junior and Senior levels. It produced NBA star Jamaal Magloire. The Student Senate supports programs for school-wide enrichment. Other leadership programs include the Eastern Ambassadors, selected to represent the school in various community functions, and Future Leaders, a mentorship program assisting junior students. The School Council meets regularly and assists in the shared decision-making process. Eastern provides a balance between academics and school/community participation.
