"The People's Republic of China returns to the Olympics after a long absence...." Had PRC ever competed in the Olympics before 1984 (as PRC which was established in 1949, not as ROC or China)? -- Kaihsu 21:18, 2004 Aug 29 (UTC)

[edit] 84 boycott arranged before '80 boycott?
Anon edit - * before the American-led boycott of the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, the Eastern Bloc, including the Soviet Union, East Germany and Cuba boycotts these Olympics (the USSR announced their intention not to participate on May 8, 1984).
I've reverted this edit, as the sentence itself states May 1984 - but if anyone can shed more information on this, please do! -- Chuq 02:14, 30 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Please stop removing the fact that Reagan was a California native. The games were held in Reagan's home state. -- SNIyer12 21:36, 26 February 2006 (UTC)

- Reagan was not a California native. He was born in Illinois. However, he was a California resident for most of his life, and had served as governor before being elected President. The relevance of California being his home state to this article is questionable, but it being his "home state" in 1984 is technically true. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by NYDCSP (talk • contribs) 05:21, 29 January 2007 (UTC).
