I am dubious as to whether the images on this page are copyright free. If no one can let me know they are within a week, I'll remove them. JiMternet 13:28, 21 May 2005 (UTC)

Oh man.. this crap is so unrealistic as to what the MI6 would recruit someone for. Unless his uncle taught him locksmithing, copying keys with clay molds, tapping phone lines, creating concealed weaponary from a cnc machine, along with turning an air rifle into a .22 lr shot rifle.. this boy is real unrealistic. reminding me why i don't read that much fiction. I'm not saying that it's impossible to teach someone to be ready to do all that at 14.. but just a plot line isn't good enough.. i've seen writers ask pros for technical details.. pathetic.--Cyberman 23:45, 25 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Most of the things you said aren't even in the books. --Unregistered Guy The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.158.134.73 (talk • contribs) 19:11, 20 July 2005 (UTC).

  • His uncle thaught him foreign languages and martial arts, but a lot of the stuff you mentioned is only seen in James Bond, not what real spying is about. The preceding unsigned comment was added by MacGyverMagic (talk • contribs) 08:25, 27 August 2005 (UTC).

    • Actually, I think I've seen another error, the one about Eagle Strike. It talks about how the "US Military" would refuse to carry out a command ordering nuclear strikes against various locations in the world. Well, wouldn't anybody in charge of nukes have to follow out that order? I mean, the "President" is giving orders from Air Force One with codes from the nuclear football. That pretty much means its authentic, and I'm not sure why anybody would refuse to carry out orders from the Commander in Chief. Seriously, if a submarine commander refused to carry out an order and launch nukes in a pre-emptive strike (I imagine "Well, they haven't done anything yet."), he'd be shot and replaced on the spot. Even if they're orders to nuke some drug plantation in Columbia or Burma. Basically, I'm not sure whether that part should be in part of the book summary. The Gwai Lo 01:10, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Serkis and Fry

The official website doesn't say anything about Stephen Fry and Andy Serkis as Smithers and the Grin. Is this verifiable? The preceding unsigned comment was added by MacGyverMagic (talk • contribs) 00:25, 27 August 2005 (UTC).

I actually saw Andy Serkis mentioned on a poster and was wondering who he would be as I saw him as Lumpy the Cook in King Kong but I recognised him after a few shots of Mr. Grin. Indie.Bones 09:03, 28 September 2006 (UTC)Indie Bones

imdb has Serkis as Smithers and Fry as Grin, not the other way around. Zoe 08:42, August 27, 2005 (UTC)

  • Fry doesn't fit to the role of the grin at all and all other online sources I could find, said the IMDB was wrong. I've added a reference to the sentence. - Mgm|(talk) 10:09, August 27, 2005 (UTC)
  • Fry's definitely Smithers, and Serkis is Mr Grin. Efortune 16:58, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Scorpia

Question: who in the chapter "Mother's Love" who is the person that comes up to Alex after he is shot?? Is it Tulip Jones??? The preceding unsigned comment was added by PK060395 (talk • contribs) 11:37, 15 October 2005 (UTC).

It's probably some old lady. She tries to help him, but she obviously gets a heart attack looking at his wound, and Anthony Horowitz couldn't write it down, because it would make the ending drasticly funny...--Anthony Orzel 17:34, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

Ever heard of the word SYMOBLISM? Or VISION? I hope Anthony Orzel is being sarcastic. U-Mos 16:02, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

It's his MOTHER. He saw his PARENTS because he was having a Near-death Experience.Flight29Down 04:37, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

Ever wonder why Alex didn't see his father? Well what if his mother died but his father survived the plane crash and changed his name to Alan Blunt, hhmmm??GoldenIrish 21:49, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Divison of articles?

Apparently we have some problems here. Stormbreaker and Ark Angel have their own pages, while Point Blank, Skeleton Key, Eagle Strike (redirect), and Scorpia (redirect) do not. Sabina Pleasure (a ridiculously minor character) gets her own page, as does Smithers, but Alex Rider, Blunt, and Mrs. Jones (arguably far more important than the other two) do not. What's the policy here? Should the character pages be combined into one large List of characters from Alex Rider? Should all of the book entries be merged into this one main page, or all be given separate entries? - Hbdragon88 00:23, 21 December 2005 (UTC)

I think every book should have its own page. Sabina and Smithers should be added to the characters section of this article. Alex should probably get his own page, but not Blunt and Jones. --71.241.244.232 18:28, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

I agree that it should only be main characters that have their own pages. If someone would like to start the articles, I would be glad to contribute to making them better. Britishagent 19:13, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Errors

There are at least a dozen grammatical and spelling errors in this article. Plus, what happened to the Eagle Strike section? This article really needs to be cleaned up. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.170.237.177 (talk • contribs) 00:00, 2 February 2006 (UTC).

It was a copyvio, copied directly from the Amazon.com page. I removed it for htis reason and am hoping that someone can write a summary wihtout copying from some source. - Hbdragon88 06:58, 11 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Errors and info problems

There ar ea lot of Grammatical and spelling errors here and info problems:

Herod Sayle is Lebanese and not Egyptian

I also have to agree with the fact that Sabina gets her own page. Smithers, I can understand, but Alex, Blunt, and Mrs. Jones definetley require their own pages. You could then classify, Sabina and other characters such as the School Secretary, Colin and so on onto a seperate page.

You could also put all the villains on a seperate page (eg. Skoda, Sayle, etc.) Also, it has come to light, whilst reading Alex Rider-The Gadgets, that Smither's signature resembles Dererk Smithers or something along those lines, can someone go against this? --Booksworm 17:20, 2 February 2006 (UTC)

  • Smithers' sig. does indeed say "Derek Smithers" - I was the technical researcher on The Gadgets and in fact that's my signature on the blueprints... Efortune 16:57, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
  • Do you mean lesbian? The preceding unsigned comment was added by 88.108.52.32 (talk • contribs) 0:57, 6 February 2006 (UTC).
  • I want to nominate this article for a cleanup. It's just horribly messed up. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.170.237.177 (talk • contribs) 02:16, 7 February 2006 (UTC).

This article does require some serious cleanup.....JP 11:28, 23 April 2006 (UTC) Why In the Film did they change Herod Sayle's name?

[edit] When were these books published?

Why isn't this information included? Brother William has a very important point, when he says that books can be seen as conversations. Not just scholarly works, but also fiction. One author writes something. Five, ten or fifteen years later, another author writes a book in reply (or a series of books), and later a reply to that is written by a third person. That's why first publication date is such a vital bit of information. Are these books from the 1960's, 1980's, very recent, or what? --Peter Knutsen 02:16, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Awesome

I have read all "Alex Rider Adventure" books Inculding the most recently "Ark Angel." I can't wait to read "Snakehead"

I here ya man. They were AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[edit] Rewrite

This article is pathetic. It breaks some of WP:NPOV and WP:NOT and is missing one entire book. There isn't even an article on Point Blank. I'm going to give it a major rewrite. Assistance would be welcome. Fredil Shadows of Darkness 22:22, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Snakehead

Just incase anybody is doubting me, proof of Snakehead's exsistence can be found in the Nightrise book of The Power of Five series, and I believe on the website too. ~ Bioran23 - Master of the Light... (Quick-Speak )

[edit] Book 8 without Alex?

When did Anthony Horowitz ever release that piece of crap?? What website and or interview is that from.GoldenIrish 22:11, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Return of Yassen

It is said that Yassen Gregorovich will return in Snakehead. Well theres just one problem, HE'S DEAD! Damian Cray killed him, remember??GoldenIrish 22:11, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
