Bangladeš

Bangladeš (Бангладеш) is a suburban settlement near Novi Sad, Serbia. It is situated between Novi Sad and the village of Rumenka. Bangladeš is populated by about 250 ethnic Roma.

The settlement's name is the Serbian name for the South Asian nation of Bangladesh. How and why the settlement got this name is not clear. It is believed it was named that because of resemblence with usual TV-pictures of Bangladesh.

Bangladeš was built in 1972 as a pig farm.
